What is a Breast Lift with Implants?
Weight fluctuations and the sequelae of breastfeeding can leave the breasts with a “saggy”, “deflated”, appearance. A breast lift with implants is performed to lift and augment the breast at the same time. It addresses the stigmata of the “ low, deflated breast”. The incision can be placed around the nipple areolar complex, in a “lollypop” or an anchor configuration depending on the anatomy of the breast.
What to Expect:
The procedure is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia. The breast implant is placed first with the no touch technique. The breast lift procedure is then performed to remove excess skin and lift the position of the nipple. The duration of the procedure is usually 4 hours.
The breasts are wrapped with a soft bandage immediately after surgery. The bandage is maintained until day 3. After day 3 a surgical bra or sports bra can be worn for 3-4 weeks.
