Education and Academic Achievements

Her academic achievement led her to be awarded as the student commencement speaker for the university. She went on to obtain her medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, and subsequently relocated to Los Angeles to complete General Surgery training at the University of Southern California. During her General Surgery training, she was awarded a competitive 3- year research fellowship through the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine. Her research focused on investigating the regenerative properties of stem cells derived from fat on tissue injury. She was awarded by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons the “Young Researcher Award” in Geneva, Switzerland, for her research.

Upon completion at USC, she attended the prestigious Stanford University Plastic Surgery Program. At Stanford, she authored book chapters and peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Davis was also fortunate to become involved in ReSurge International, a humanitarian organization founded by a former chair of the program. ReSurge International’s mission is to educate and empower physicians in developing countries to improve their medical infrastructure to create sustainable, high-quality surgical care. Dr. Davis was a member of the first team to travel to Cuba to establish an ongoing relationship with the teaching hospital in Havana. After finishing at Stanford, she traveled abroad to complete aesthetic fellowships in France and Spain.

Dr. Davis was recently featured on Medium and Thrive Global, in their SHEROS series, recognizing distinguished women of influence in their respective fields.

“I like to make sure that each patient has adequate time to ask all of their questions and are well informed before leaving my office. New consultations are scheduled for a least 1 hour because I never want any of my patients to feel rushed. Deciding on any type of surgery is a difficult decision; therefore, I want my patients to feel comfortable prior to deciding on proceeding forward. I look to establish long-lasting, trusting relationships with each of my patients and will always deliver care as if they were one of my family members.”

Q & A with Dr. Davis

I enjoy helping people and to be able to give them strength in such vulnerable periods of their lives.  It is extremely rewarding to know you have inspired or made a positive impact in other individuals’ lives.  I also enjoy meeting new people, and hearing their stories equally inspires me as well.

I decided on a career in medicine after my first year in college. I witnessed a severe car accident and this event really had a huge impact on me. I remember wanting desperately to help but did not have the skill set to do so. That was the pivotal event in my life that led me to a career in medicine. Prior to that I did not have any exposure to the field—I always had an interest in science; however, I knew little about the practice of medicine. I started volunteering in the emergency room of a very busy county hospital and that exposure solidified my path in medicine.

Deciding on a career in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery was a slow evolution when I was in medical school. I realized I really enjoyed operating and preferred to be the recovery side of helping to restore form and function after cancer treatment or a major trauma. I perform both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. I enjoy the artistry of aesthetic medicine and there are many different ways to approach an aesthetic problem.

We have a surgical center in our Beverly Hills, CA clinic that is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), which is an accreditation body approved by the Medical Board of California for outpatient surgical facilities. This accreditation maintains rigorous standards for safety through audits and mandatory recertification on regular intervals.

Professional, Honest, Integrity

I take my time with my patients and try to be as available as possible.  My patients will never feel like my practice is a revolving door.  I like to establish long-lasting, trusting relationships.

I really value honesty and integrity, particularly in plastic surgery. I will never recommend or perform a procedure that is not indicated.  I also am very transparent with my patients with respect to goals and realistic expectations.  I will always deliver care as if you were a member of my family.

I enjoy helping people and to be able to empower them in making key decisions in their surgical care.  It is extremely rewarding to know that you have made a positive impact on their lives.  I also enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories, as my patients equally inspire me as well.

In my leisure time I enjoy spending quality time with my children.  I also enjoy running, Pilates, reading and learning languages.

I think it is always challenging for working professionals to find that fine balance of career and family life.

As a woman, the benefit of having a female plastic surgeon is having a surgeon who fully understands the unique changing that our bodies go through with childbirth and aging. We have experienced all the emotions and concerns that one encounters at each of these stages of life. We are compassionate and empathetic, as we can relate. In addition, we are listeners and will thoroughly listen to all your concerns and facilitate open communication and dialogue.
