What is a Breast Augmentation?
Breast augmentation is a procedure to enlarge the breasts by the use of saline or silicone gel implants. Silicone implants tends to create a more natural feel and appearance to the breast. However there are many different options with respect to sizes and consistency of the implant designed to fit all body types. Dr. Davis will help you to determine the most suitable implant based on your anatomy and overall aesthetic preferences.
What to Expect:
The procedure is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia. Small incisions are made in either the lower breast crease, along the nipple areolar complex or in the axillary area. The implant is placed with a no touch technique for sterility. The duration of the procedure is typically 2 hours.
The breasts are wrapped with a soft wrap immediately after surgery. The wrap is maintained until day 3. After day 3 a surgical bra or sports bra can be worn for 3-4 weeks.
